Thanks to all of you fans out there, Valve will be releasing Left 4 Dead 2′s Dead Air DLC before it’s July 22nd expected release. Last week Valve took out a challenge to the L4D2 community to complete the “Stream Crosser” achievement 20,000 times, to which the community responded by completing it 60,774 times in the first 24 hours of the challenge. The “Stream Crosser” challenge includes beating the Cold Stream campaign, and since Valve challenged the community to beat it, I’m guessing it’s rather hard to do. Anyways, since you guys did it, Valve will be keeping their word and will be releasing the Cold Air DLC as soon as it’s done. Make sure to stay tuned for it’s official release date.

Next week the new DLC from Rock Band 3 will be available for download. We can expect to see all of them to cost you only about $2 each. The individual songs available are

• “A Little Respect” – Erasure (160 MSP / 200 WP / $1.99)
• “Relax (Come Fighting)” – Frankie Goes to Hollywood (160 MSP / 200 WP / $1.99)
• “Boom” – P.O.D. (160 MSP / 200 WP / $1.99)*
• “Youth of the Nation” – P.O.D. (160 MSP / 200 WP / $1.99)

Mentioned previously in a post we’ve made a couple of days ago, the source of the leaked Gears of War 3 Campaign has been solved! It was said that it was due to an unsecured web server, said by Kotaku. I’m sure Epic Games is face palming so hard right now. Either way, at least some people had the chance to enjoy some of the campaign, right? right?

It’s crazy how the video game industry becomes bigger and bigger every year. Many consider the professional side to be just like “sports” while others ponder why in the world people will even play video games at all. One things for sure and that is the games industry is getting huge about $74 billion per year huge. Gartner Inc even predicts that in about 4 years the gaming industry will be worth $115 billion, that’s insane. Although many of you might think Xbox or PS3 or even the Wii is the ones racking in the money, your wrong, it’s all thanks to the mobile games.
“As the popularity of smartphones and tablets continues to expand, gaming will remain a key component in the use of these devices,” said principal research analyst Tuong Nguyen. “Mobile games are the most downloaded application category across most application stores. For this reason, mobile gaming will continue to thrive as more consumers expand their use of new and innovative portable connected devices.” It seems like a gutsy call as we’re seeing a lot of new systems hitting deck later this year, but I can agree that many of us dedicate our phone space to games. Need for Speed: The Run was one of the biggest announcements that was said on E3, with a pretty neat looking trailer. Many were satisfied, while others were yearning for more. Don’t you worry because today we get to give you a look at an extended trailer, with the first couple of minutes showing the same clips as we saw on E3. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the trailer and don’t forget to purchase your very own copy of Need for Speed: The Run this coming November, 2011.

We’ve heard rumors about Halo 4 and how Microsoft may go back to their old roots and take some notes from their previous video game, Halo 1. Now, I know many of you old school Halo players are sitting their with a grin placed on your face, others might be a bit more discouraged due to the inexperience of the older games. Either way, Microsoft UK Xbox chief Stephen McGill has given us some more information on the game.

The interview had taken place at MCV. This is where we McGill stated the key things that 343 Industries was working on with Halo 4 is “going back to what made it amazing for people playing the first Halo”. You can take that however you want to, I take it by them saying “we’re bringing back the Halo 1 pistol.” Only one can dream.

Speaking of Gears of War 2, we have just gotten information about a leaked Gears of War 3 Campaign going around on the internet. Microsoft is doing investigation on who could of leaked the information, or how it even got out. One thing is clear though, this game has a lot of missed content, levels, and the storyline is probably incomplete as well. If your a Campaign fanatic, I would keep my eyes open for spoilers because I’m sure there’s a lot roaming out their now that the game has leaked. Oh, well, maybe Microsoft can use this as a beta phase.

Epic Games has decided to throw Gears of War 2 a Fourth of July party starting today. Epic has promised us a lot of monsters such as more Flaming Bloodmounts, Boomers, and Tickers. Not only that but we get to get our hands on more Hammer of Dawn ammo and four times the Mortar. If that hasn’t gotten you excited, how about the 21XP that Epic Games announced. Yeah, you heard us correctly, 21XP. That’s like a level each kill. So what are you waiting for, go get on Xbox.
